Kuwait University, represented by the Department of Cultural and Artistic Activities at the Deanship of Student Affairs, organized an educational religious lecture titled “The Place of Comfort and the Source of Blessing” as part of the Anas Quranic Sessions series. The lecture was delivered by Sheikh Dr. Othman Al-Khamees, in the presence of Prof. Jassem Al-Hamdan, Acting Dean of Student Affairs, along with a number of faculty and administrative members and students from various colleges of Kuwait University. The event was held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the Sabah Al-Salem University City.
This awareness-raising lecture represents a distinguished initiative aimed at enhancing religious understanding by emphasizing that the Holy Qur’an is a source of guidance and mercy for all humankind, and a comprehensive constitution that governs every aspect of human life—both religiously and worldly.
At the beginning of his lecture, Sheikh Dr. Othman Al-Khamees affirmed that the Holy Qur’an is a way of life, and that those who live by it feel as though Allah addresses them through every verse, strengthening their faith and reliance upon Him. He urged everyone to dedicate a fixed time daily for Qur’an recitation and to avoid abandoning it, praying that Allah would make them among the people of the Qur’an and bless their recitation. He also expressed deep gratitude to Kuwait University and its administration for their warm hospitality and for hosting such faith-enriching lectures that nurture the students’ spiritual and moral awareness.
In turn, Prof. Al-Hamdan welcomed Sheikh Dr. Al-Khamees, thanking him for his distinguished presence and valuable contribution. He praised his scholarly efforts and his prominent role in spreading knowledge and enlightenment, and he commended the efforts of the student volunteer team for organizing the lecture. He emphasized that the progress of nations is measured by the awareness and cultural depth of their people—both religiously and worldly. He added that academic excellence can only be achieved through two fundamental pillars: the Book of Allah and prayer, without which a person loses the ability to think and concentrate. He further noted that good character is derived from the Holy Qur’an, which positively influences students’ interactions with faculty members and peers, as well as their academic success.
The lecture also included an open Q&A session, where participants discussed the virtues of the Holy Qur’an, its divine miracles that touch the heart, and its profound role in instilling peace and reassurance in the soul.
At the conclusion of the event, Kuwait University, represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs, honored Sheikh Dr. Othman Al-Khamees for his significant contributions to enriching knowledge and education, in appreciation of his efforts in promoting religious and academic awareness. The university also presented tokens of appreciation to the sponsors and supporting entities that contributed to the success of this religious lecture.
