Dr. Fadel Abbas Aziz, Acting Dean of Admission and Registration at Kuwait University, announced the period for submitting online applications for admission to Kuwait University for the second semester of the academic year 2025/2026. The application period is open to Kuwaiti students and citizens of GCC countries who meet the admission requirements and are graduates of the unified education system, religious institutes, American schools, or British schools, including those expected to graduate this semester (for schools located in Kuwait only).
Applications may be submitted online starting Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 12:00 AM, and will remain open until Thursday, December 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
Students falling under other admission categories may submit their applications in person at the Admission and Registration Hall at Sabah Al-Salem University City during official working hours from December 21 to December 25, 2025, in accordance with the timeline outlined in the admission schedule.
Dr. Aziz clarified that the minimum admission thresholds for all colleges for Kuwaiti students for the second semester are determined based on the equivalent score, which takes into account both the student’s high school GPA and results of the Academic Aptitude Tests. Applicants must meet a minimum high school GPA of 70% for the Science track and 78% for the Arts track to be eligible, except for applicants to the College of Science, where the high school GPA alone determines eligibility. Only applicants meeting these minimum criteria and all other conditions for admission will be considered; no application will be accepted below the stated thresholds.
Online Admission Application Portal
Dr. Aziz further explained that the admission application process for the second semester of the academic year 2025/2026 will be conducted exclusively online through the university’s admission portal at:
Eligible applicants may submit their application via this website. Please note that the approval period announced in the admission timeline applies to Kuwaiti graduates of American and British secondary schools who apply online, and does not include graduates of the unified system and religious institutes, whose admissions will be processed electronically without the need to visit the Admission and Registration Hall.
Equivalency of International English Exams
Dr. Aziz also noted that international English exams such as the TOEFL PBT, TOEFL iBT, or IELTS may be considered as substitutes for the university’s English Academic Aptitude Test when calculating the equivalent score, provided the results are submitted before the end of the application period.
Furthermore, these results may be used to exempt students from the remedial English course, provided the scores are submitted during the admission approval period and no later than the end of the first week of classes in the semester for which the student is admitted.
Eligibility to Submit Online Applications
Dr. Aziz added that if a student is unable to access the admission system, an automated message will appear with a link to instructions and guidelines that the student must follow. Admission is conditional upon the accuracy of the data provided in the application.

Required Documents for Admission Approval
Applicants must review their application to determine the specific documents required based on the type of high school certificate and their admission category. Kuwait University reserves the right to cancel admission for any applicant who fails to submit the required documents or provides inaccurate or misleading information, in accordance with the university’s admission and transfer regulations.
Students with Special Needs
Dr. Aziz stated that Kuwait University has established lower admission thresholds for students with special needs who are Kuwaiti nationals and meet all admission requirements. The minimum GPA for these applicants is 65% for the Science track and 72% for the Arts track.
Applicants must submit a valid disability certificate issued by the Public Authority for the Affairs of Persons with Disabilities, along with relevant medical reports. These students are required to visit the Admission and Registration Hall during official working hours to submit their applications.
However, students with a GPA of 70% or higher (Science) or 78% or higher (Arts) may apply online via the admission portal mentioned above.
Expected Graduates of British Secondary Schools
Dr. Aziz emphasized that students from British-system schools who are expected to graduate must submit their applications online within the announced period. Final results must then be submitted to the Deanship of Admission and Registration within two working days from the date of result issuance, in order to determine their major and complete the registration process. These applicants will have an equal opportunity for admission, comparable to their peers who submitted their complete applications during the official application period.

Transfer Students and Cultural Scholarship Applicants
Dr. Aziz also announced a designated period for the submission of applications by transfer students from other universities, colleges of the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET), and members of the Kuwaiti Army and National Guard, from Sunday, December 14, 2025, until Thursday, January 15, 2026.
Applications from students on cultural scholarships will be accepted from Sunday, December 14, 2025, until Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
Final Remarks
Dr. Fadel Abbas Aziz concluded his statement by encouraging all prospective applicants to carefully review the instructions and guidelines provided on the university’s official website and to strictly adhere to the announced deadlines for application submission and admission approval. No applications will be accepted after the stated deadlines.
He extended his best wishes for success to all applicants.
