Dr. Fadel Abbas Aziz, Acting Dean of Admission and Registration at Kuwait University, announced that the online application period for admission to Kuwait University for the first semester of the 2025–2026 academic year will begin Saturday, July 19, 2025, and end on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.
This period applies to students who meet the admission requirements from the following groups:
Kuwaiti nationals
Children of Kuwaiti mothers
Citizens of GCC countries
Non-Kuwaitis residing illegally (Bidoon), excluding children of Kuwaiti mothers
Graduates of the unified education system, religious institutes, American schools, and British schools (for graduates and expected graduates within Kuwait only)
Other categories of applicants must submit their applications in person at the Admission and Registration Hall in Sabah Al-Salem University City between July 23–29, 2025, during official working hours as indicated in the published schedule.
Dr. Aziz clarified that admission to all university majors is based on the "equivalent GPA", except for the Colleges of Science and Law. The equivalent GPA is calculated using weighted scores that vary by college, combining high school GPA and results from the academic aptitude tests.

Students mentioned above may apply through this website.
Note: The acceptance period mentioned in the schedule for Kuwaiti students and children of Kuwaiti mothers only applies to graduates of American and British high schools, and does not include graduates of the unified or religious education systems, whose acceptance will be processed electronically without visiting the admissions hall.

Substitution of International Test Scores for English Aptitude Test
Dr. Aziz also noted that TOEFL (PBT/IBT) and IELTS scores may be accepted in place of Kuwait University's English aptitude test when calculating the equivalent GPA—provided that scores are submitted before the application deadline.
Such results can also exempt students from the preparatory English course if submitted during the acceptance period or within the first week of classes in the admitted semester.

Technical Access and Application Issues
If a student is unable to access the online application system, a special link will appear directing them to guidance and instructions. Admission is conditional on the accuracy of the data provided.
________________________________________
Required Documents
Students must review their application to determine which documents are required based on their high school type and admission category.
Kuwait University reserves the right to cancel any admission if the student fails to provide the required documents or if any data is proven incorrect, in accordance with the university's admission and transfer policies.

Students with Disabilities
Dr. Aziz emphasized that there are lower minimum GPA thresholds for students with disabilities who are Kuwaiti nationals or children of Kuwaiti mothers:
65% for Science stream
72% for Arts stream
Applicants must provide a valid disability certificate from the Public Authority for Disabled Affairs along with medical reports. These students must apply in person during working hours.
However, if their GPA is 70% or higher (Science) or 78% or higher (Arts), they may apply online using the previously mentioned portal.

Expected Graduates of British Curriculum Schools
British school students expecting to graduate must submit their applications online during the designated dates, and later submit their final results to the Admission and Registration Office within two working days of the results being announced.
Their admission will depend on the minimum GPA thresholds set for each college/major. Their chances of admission are equal to those of students who completed their applications during the initial application period.
