As part of the activities organized in celebration of the World Arabic Language Day, the Educational Curriculum Club at the College of Education organized a cultural event entitled “The Arabic Language: Roots and Identity.”

The Educational Curriculum Club at the College of Education, Kuwait University, organized a cultural event titled “The Arabic Language: Roots and Identity,” which witnessed notable attendance and strong engagement from university students, faculty members, and individuals interested in the Arabic language. The event was held on Monday, 15 December 2025, at the College of Education Theatre.
The event commenced with an opening address delivered by the President of the Educational Curriculum Club, Mr. Rifai Al-Basman, in which he emphasized that the Arabic language constitutes a fundamental pillar in the construction of cultural identity. He highlighted the importance of organizing such events in raising awareness of the value and status of the Arabic language within the academic community, as well as in strengthening students’ connection to their linguistic and civilizational heritage.
This was followed by the opening speech of the General Supervisor of the Educational Curriculum Club, Dr. Hussa Al-Suhail, who stressed the role of educational institutions in preserving and developing the Arabic language. She affirmed that celebrating the World Arabic Language Day reflects the University’s mission to support Arab culture and promote the use of Arabic across various scientific and educational fields.
The event included a range of interactive activities and competitions, most notably a competition on Arabic calligraphy and its various styles, presented by Ms. Amal Al-Enezi. Through this activity, students were introduced to the aesthetic qualities of Arabic calligraphy and the diversity of its forms, while being given the opportunity to participate and showcase their artistic skills. In addition, a grammatical analysis (i‘rāb) competition was held under the supervision of Dr. Mohammed Al-Sadani, with the participation of several college students. Participants were divided into competitive groups in an engaging educational environment aimed at developing linguistic skills and enhancing grammatical understanding through an interactive approach.
At the conclusion of the event, the organizers from the Educational Curriculum Club expressed their appreciation to all those who contributed to the success of the event, affirming the Club’s commitment to continuing the organization of programs and activities that serve students and enhance the status of the Arabic language as a language of knowledge, identity, and culture
