The office also coordinates with the academic departments of the College in preparing the course schedule, in accordance with the rules and regulations set and enforced by the Office of Admissions and Registration. Additionally, it collaborates with the academic departments to organize regular orientation sessions for newly admitted students.

The presence of the office on the Adailiya campus provides added convenience for students of the College, allowing them to handle all matters related to registration, course withdrawal, and add/drop procedures without the need to visit the Office of Admissions and Registration at the Sabah Al-Salem University City campus.

 

Overview of the Guidance and Advising Office

The Guidance and Advising Office is one of the departments under the Office of the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at the College. It is dedicated to providing comprehensive services to both students and faculty members, aiming to overcome obstacles that may hinder the educational journey at the university. The office is headed by Ms. Aisha Al-Qaddou and is composed of three units:

 

Student Advising Unit:
This unit offers academic guidance services to students and oversees internal transfers within the College as well as transfers between colleges within the university. It also organizes orientation programs for new students to familiarize them with the university's academic system in general, and the College's system in particular. The unit is headed by Ms. Faten Al-Meshaan.

 

Student Affairs Unit:
This unit supervises the College’s Student Affairs Committee, which handles requests related to enrollment suspension, deferred admission, and semester withdrawals. It also follows up on dismissed or academically warned students, preparing reports and studies to be reviewed by the appropriate committees. The unit provides all necessary student forms, including: reports, deferred admission requests, enrollment suspension, expected graduation forms, and exam postponement requests. The unit includes Ms. Sarah Al-Majed and Ms. Maryam Al-Failakawi.

 

Registration and Scheduling Unit:
This unit oversees and manages the preparation of the course schedule in coordination with the College’s academic departments. It serves as a liaison between the departments and the Office of Admissions and Registration regarding the schedule and any updates or changes. Additionally, the office is responsible for organizing and executing the schedule completion process for students who are not expected to graduate (by force registration). The unit is managed by Ms. Maryam Al-Qadeeri

 

 

 

College Admission Policy:

  • Successful completion of a General Secondary School Certificate – Science track (or its equivalent).
  • Submission of the aptitude tests offered by Kuwait University in English and Mathematics.
  • An equivalent score is calculated as follows:
    • 70% from the high school certificate
    • 15% from the English test
    • 15% from the Mathematics test
  • Admission is based on the number of available seats in each academic major within the College.
