Office of the Vice Dean for Planning, Consultation, and Training – College of Architecture

The Office of the Assistant Dean for Planning, Consultation, and Training at the College of Architecture is an integral part of strengthening the College’s ties with the community and advancing its role in innovation within the fields of architecture and design. The office focuses on becoming Kuwait’s leading source for providing high-quality training and consultation services for architecture and design professionals, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

To achieve these goals, the Consultation Unit, under the supervision of the Office of the Assistant Dean for Planning, Consultation, and Training, offers a range of services that connect academia with the professional community. The unit draws on the expertise of its members to organize workshops and tailored training programs aimed at developing individual and institutional skills across various fields including architecture, visual and interior design, and landscape architecture. Additionally, we offer specialized training in areas such as sustainable development, green architecture, building information modeling (BIM), wayfinding, and project management. These programs are designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to address modern challenges in their fields.

Furthermore, the Consultation Unit works to connect academia with the professional community through the provision of specialized consultancy services. The unit offers expertise to governmental, private, and international entities, conducts labor market studies, supervises training and research projects, and organizes cultural activities—all in support of the College’s mission to promote innovation and professional development.

The office is also committed to providing specialized consultations aimed at helping institutions adopt sustainable practices, achieve greater project management efficiency, and improve overall performance. As a hub for communication between the university and the community, the office contributes to knowledge exchange and fosters collaboration between academic institutions and the private sector.

Additionally, the office plays a vital role in conducting analytical labor market studies, which help guide and continuously update academic curricula to align with the evolving needs of the market. We believe that continuous education and professional development are key to sustainable success, and therefore, we focus on building strong partnerships with government and private sector entities to offer training and professional opportunities that enhance national competencies and support the local economy.

Through these integrated efforts, the office aims to fulfill the College’s vision of fostering engagement between academia and the community and enhancing its standing as a beacon of knowledge and innovation in the fields of architecture and design.
